An essential and affordable destination

La Côte de Azur is a place with charm, it’s light, colour, sun and beaches makes it an ideal destination for a holiday. So much so, that over four million people choose La Côte de Azur to spend a few days to relax. Very well known people like royalties, actors, famous musicians found in cities like Nice, Cannes or Antibes their particular paradise. One of the reasons why ¨Periodico Empresarios¨has visited this charming place is to offer our readers a guide of hotels, restaurants, tourist routes, cultural activities etc which the editor Fernando Oliver has visited personally and highly recommends. This information you will find in the following pages.

The first place visited by ¨Periodico Empresarios¨was Cannes. Cannes is very well known for its international Film Festival, a city of stars and luxury. Cannes can also be an affordable location for tourists, where the walking tour along the Promenade de la Croisette is highly recommended to view all of its charms. You can find luxury shops with the most exclusive brands mixed with small shops at affordable prices. The same goes with the restaurants and hotels, you can find and enjoy what you are looking for for all type of budgets and view the beaches, restaurants, cafés etc. Cannes offers tranquillity, clean streets and very friendly people which receive the tourists with an open smile and offers them a wide range of possibilities.

The editor wants to recommend the readers two special recommendations, the first is to stay at the Novotel Cannes Montfleury, which offers more than comfortable facilities and a prime location and also the Cuisine and obligatory stop at Park 45, a Michelin Star restaurant offering spectacular sea views and meals from 30 Euros. Affordable prices considering the location and the high quality offered. Also, a must is to visit the islands of Cannes with special reference to St Marguerite Island where you can see the fortified tower where the man in the iron mask was a prisoner.

After discovering the wonders of Cannes, we leave the city and arrive in Nice, the fifth most famous city of France, also known as Nice la Belle. Very well known for its Promenade des Anglais where you can view the famous beaches. We stayed at the Hotel Windsor a XIX century hotel. We visited the old part of town, port, and the most representative museums like the Matisse Museum. It is hard not to fall in love with this city full of culture. We enjoyed dining at LÓliviera restaurant and afterwards enjoyed savouring many types of wines in Les Compagnos de la Grappe where they can offer you more than 2000 wine references world wide. If you are interested in enjoying traditional food a must and highly recommended restaurant is the cuisine of Aphrodite with Chef David Faure.

From Nice we went to Antibes, known for its jazz festival and the great artists who have resided there such as Picasso. Well known for the 25kms of coast and 48 beaches. In Antibes you can visit various important art museums with works of Picasso, Monnet, Boudin or Peynet. But if art is important, no less so is the sport. While we were visiting Antibes we saw the famous Yacht Race. After a hard morning visiting all these delightfull places we stopped to enjoy a delicious meal at Restaurant Le Bastion where you can enjoy high quality food at very reasonable prices. After our lunch we went back to our hotel, Hotel Hélios to rest its one of the few hotels that have a private beach.

In recent years the Côte de Azur has made a mayor effort to adapt to all kinds of tourists with all kind of budgets. We recommend the public transport for 1 euro where you can visit various cities.

On our way home back to Spain we stopped in Monte Carlo to enjoy a meal at Restaurant Amici Miei with Michele Florentino our guide. If you want to visit unique places La Côte de Azur is a must. We hope you enjoy our guide of Côte de Azur.
